Cisternerne - Museum of Modern Glass Art
The exhibition 2010 - "FLOW GLOW"
New glassworks made by the Swedish artist Göran Wärff.
Göran Wärff belongs to that exclusive group of Swedish artists whose works have gained them international recognition. Since the mid-sixties, Göran Wärff has been one of the great rejuvenators of Swedish art glass.
Cisternerne is a new permanent museum of modern glass art - stained glass - with exhibitions from Robert Jacobsen, Carl-Henning Petersen, Tróndur Patursson, Leif Sylvester, Peter Brandes, Arne Haugen Sørensen, Jette Vogt, Adi Holzer, Eva Weiss Bentzon. The exhibition area of the museum is the old water cisterns under Søndermarken, 4200 m2. The stained glass and the beautiful surroundings is an art experience out of the ordinary.
Cisternerne - The Museum of Modern Glass Art extended its area in 2007, and presents a new area of 1400 square meters (approx. 4200 square feet) by including the cistern situated under Søndermarken. The extended area not only provides an opportunity for more space in the exhibition area, but also gives a complete picture of this historic water reservoir.
Welcome
Cisternerne, a unique Museum in Europe
In Ekstrabladets electronic newspaper dt. 25th February, the highly reputed FORBES Trade Magazine mentions Cisternerne amongst one of the most unique Museum in Europe.
FORBES Trade Magazine's european edition, is primarily read by business people all over. Only if it is something worth mentioning (good or bad), FORBES will take it up. In the case of Cisternerne, this "something" is definitely good.
We are very proud and delighted to be mentioned in the FORBES Magazine, and hope it will lead to an increased number of people, wanting to visit our unique Museum.
